Alan Rose

Profile Alan Rose.jpg

Alan most enjoys working with watercolour and pen and ink.

He has worked with pencil and then pen and ink since he was 12 years of age. He began working with watercolour six years ago.

Alan was first inspired by a strong desire to paint and draw. Unfortunately he did not have much chance to explore this passion until he retired. He has spent the last 13 years making the most of his spare time and now runs classes with the gallery.

Today Alan find inspiration in wildlife. As a wildlife carer he has a natural affinity to native animals and birds. He also finds inspiration in old buildings such as the courthouse, railway stations etc.

Famous artists who have influenced Alan's work include Monet and Hodgekinson. Aside from his watercolour workshops Alan can sometimes be found at the gallery on a Tuesday when he comes in for updates.
